This role is part of a team that will perform administration within Oracle eBusiness ERP Applications, Data Warehouse and Custom Application Server Administration to ensure continuous 24X7 availability in support of mission critical business applications. This position requires a proactive, highly motivated individual with excellent communication and root cause problem solving skills.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Ensure 24x7 operation and availability of business systems and all interfaced systems.
· Provide technical direction to vendor-managed remote DBA services
· Evaluate, propose and implement new technologies to further system productivity and/or quality.
· Propose and develop strategic improvements in all technical areas of system implementation, support and enhancement.
· Develop plan and procedures for and execute periodic disaster recovery site switchover.
· Develop, document and enforce application database standards, procedures and data security.
· Work with extended Infrastructure team to plan and coordinate application and database changes, installation of upgrades, patches and resolve any cross function issues.
· Develop DB and ERP infrastructure testing plans.
· Monitor and plan for query performance tuning, sizing and capacity, and backup and recovery
· Collect and interpret trace and log files to identify database performance issues.
· Coordinate database cloning, schema, and table level data refreshes with development, support, and business teams.
· Write/maintain OS level scripts (i.e., UNIX shell) for system DB maintenance.
· Work with cross project teams to resolve technical performance issues/bottlenecks.
· Provide on-call support.
Required Skills:
· Significant understanding of all Oracle Application DBA related functions -previous experience in a 24x7 HA environment a must.
· Experience configuring Oracle e-Business 11.5.10/10gAS/10gDB in multi-tier environment.
· Expert in Oracle 9i/10g RDBMS, performance tuning, and data security protocols
· Strong skills with all Oracle "ad" tools and utilities for managing Oracle Applications.
· Experience with Disaster Recovery design, implementation and testing using replication tools
· Experience with SQL, PL/SQL and database concepts.
· Experience with UNIX configuration, remote boot, monitoring and logging, trouble shooting, OS Scripting and security.
· Experience Veritas Netback Backup/Restore Tools
