Job Description:
Our client seeks someone who has extensive Java application migrations experience (4-7 years), moving applications from Websphere Application Server 4 to 6.1. The client is also upgrading Java J2EE from current version to latest version 1.5 and JDK's to version 5.0.
20-30 new projects are coming doing upgrades from Websphere 4 to 6.1 in the next year.
Resposibilities:
- Will be taking existing code (vs. creating a new one), migrate it on 6.1, see what happens and solve problems with it. So analytical skills are very important.
- Work with internal framework support for the Java development team (on-site);
- Will be debugging and troubleshooting code and helping developers; doing testing and validations.
Skills required:
- 4-7 years of Java application migrations exp., moving them from WAS 4 to 6.1 or at least 6.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with technical interface calls with clients
- Prepare Pre-load files for loading into the database
- Perform unit testing of new interface
- Conduct Interface training to clients over the phone
- Provide Interface client user acceptance assistance to help troubleshoot and answer questions
- Create/Load training date for consulting services
- Provide Interface support during normal business hours and rotating weekend and after hours support
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Math or equivalent work experience
- Excellent customer service skills a must
