Sales Engineer in Chicago, IL

Will work in an integrated sales and engineering environment and be responsible for the technical components of the sales process of an On-Demand Learning product used by the education industry to capture classroom lectures for web-based, interactive, rich media playback.

Responsibilities:

*Working closely with Regional Account Managers, the Sales Engineer will perform the technical qualification of prospects and customers. Participate in conference calls, online and onsite demonstrations as needed.
*Develop deployment scenarios for clients in response to their needs and technology environment, including hardware recommendations if necessary.
*Manage personal demonstration resources. Assist with Regional Account Managers laptop demonstration resources as needed.
*Manage all technical aspects of product proof of concept establishing timelines, drivers, installation, training, and on going follow up.
*Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products as they relate to the product line.
*Assist with technical responses to RFPs.
*Arm customer with technical knowledge and documentation to prepare classroom environment for installation. Serve as liaison and project manager between multiple departments (IT, AV, etc) within the institution if necessary.
*Become the in-house expert on customer deployments and configurations. Understand customer requirements for deployment and propose solutions including classroom configuration, IT backend and storage, AV integration, distribution mechanism based on customer environment.
*Provide installation services either remotely or at the customer's site.
*Proactively resolve pre-sales technical support issues.
*Serve as an escalation point for Technical Support resolving advanced customer technical support problems, either assisting Technical Support or resolving problems directly and in a timely fashion.
*Assist with generation of key documentation including deployment and installation guides.
*Serve as resource for tradeshow technical requirements, implementation and logistics as needed.
Requirements:

*US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
*4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Multimedia
*Minimum 3-5 years experience in technology software sales.
*Experience working with Windows 2000 Server or later.
*Knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms including systems administration.
*Understanding of Windows/IIS and/or Linux/Apache Web server technologies.
*Experience with Windows XP OS.
*Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, and FTP; Active Directory.
*Ability to travel up to 75%
*Excellent project management skills.
*Must possess excellent presentation, demonstration, verbal and written skills along with timely follow up.
