The Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. The Project Manager is responsible for the timely delivery of highly complex and technical system projects; Assembles the project team and develops team goals and objectives to complete the project within prescribed resource limits
and in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards; Identifies resources required for completion of the project and has the authority to
obtain resources as needed; Responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently.
Major Duties
1. Responsible for the timely delivery of highly
complex and technical system projects.
2. Gathers facts, defines objectives, and develops
schedule and deadlines for the project.
3. Develop conceptual system requirements, system
integration requirements, and phasing plan. Conduct
post-install system review.
4. Assembles the project team members
and develops team goals and objectives
to complete the project within prescribed
resource limits and in accordance with client
requirements and departmental standards.
5. Provides guidance to team members on technical
aspects of the project.
6. Responsible for the final determination on technical
and non-technical decisions throughout the project.
7. Identifies the resources required for completion
of the project and has the authority to obtain resources
as needed.
8. Presents project proposals, communication plan, status reports,
and final results to senior level management.
9. Responsible for quality assurance review of the
project and the evaluation and documentation of
team procedures.
10. Responsible for managing the project budget
11. Identify, log and manage issues and risks and take corrective action as needed.
12. Manage the project scope and change control process
13. Maintain documentation (eg. Schedules, requirements, meeting minutes and status reports) in a project repository
Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of various programming languages
usually obtained through a four year degree program in
related technology is required to oversee and manage all phases
of the project.
Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and project management methodologies are required.
Analytical and problem solving skills are needed for systems guidance.
Organizational skills are required to develop and follow through on
project goals and objectives.
Experience: Specific Requirements
Experience working with internal clients (business partners)
PMI certification preferred
Knowledge of SDLC methodology required
Experience working with MS Project, Project Server, Lotus Notes, SharePoint, Project Web Access
Update on the type of environment that candidate may be coming into if they are hired. This position may require the following:
- The candidate could be walking into a very chaotic environment.
- Hiring manager's expectation is that this person will assist the team lead in bringing order to chaos.
- This is a very fast paced environment that will require OT - at least initially until order is established.
- Until order is established - this person will need to be flexible with methodology. The ideal candidate must understand what drives methodology - why something is needed and accomplish the 'need' rather than be rigid in the execution.

Our client is seeking a Design Engineering Consultant, with a minimum of 6 years of engineering experience in a lead engineering role. The main responsibility of the Engineer will be to serve as a GPS system technical specialist for reviewing efforts in product conceptualization, design and integration, using systems engineering methods. He/she will act as peer consultant of relevant technical data, specialized knowledge usage and will propose improvements or modifications, to the design ideas and concept. The Design Engineer will work with other suppliers’ engineering personnel and customer representatives, to assure proper consideration of customer requirements.
