JOB DESCRIPTION
The Midwest branch of CDI IT Solutions is currently looking to add several mid- to senior-level Java/J2EE developers to one of our project teams to be located in Chicago. The project is a long-term opportunity of 12 months in duration and will entail the entire SDLC.

Responsibilities
- Develop complex Java/J2EE systems from use cases and wire frame diagrams. Responsibilities include analysis, design, development and testing
- Troubleshoot, enhance, support and maintain mission-critical web and batch applications
- Apply Java development best-practices to new and existing code

Requirements
- 3-5 years of Java and J2EE application development in a web environment
- 2 years of JSP development including experience with custom tags and the MVC pattern
- 1 year of XML (configuration and parsing)
- 1 year of UNIX
- Experience with Eclipse/ WebSphere Studio App Developer/ Rational Application Developer (or other integrated development environment)
- Experience with ClearCase (or other comparable source control system)
- Experience with Frameworks such as Struts, Spring, Hibernate and iBatis
- Experience with unit testing and testing frameworks such as jUnit and Selenium
- Knowledge of security implications of web applications, and have some experience designing secure web applications
- Working knowledge in SQL and database design
- Working knowledge in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS development
- Ability to design from use cases using UML, and integrate into existing systems
- Knowledgeable of and comfortable with a formal software development methodology such as RUP
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills

Individual contributor provides systems operational support, technical skills to monitor, operate and maintain technical infrastructure and tests new methods, software, hardware, data flow and interfaces with existing systems. 2. Participates in instructing, assigning, directing, and checking the work of the infrastructure engineering staff.
3. Assists in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the section. Provides input on performance evaluations for staff.

9. Stays up to date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and the insurance industry.
Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 4:45 pm, $97,850-$113,181/year; overtime exempt.
