Job Description

The SAP HR Managing Consultant / Team Lead is responsible for successful delivery of HR technology process deliverables in the SAP HR ECM module. This role assists clients in the selection, planning, fit analysis, configuration, testing, rollout, and post-implementation support of large-scale SAP HR solutions. The Managing Consultant / Team Lead will also be involved in improving operational metrics & business case. He/she will provide functional knowledge & manage client relationships within context of individual role. Provides hands-on leadership & mentoring throughout all project phases to a team of consultants, consisting of consultants, subcontractors, remote resources, and client employees. Has direct involvement in qualifying and pursuing sales opportunities.

MUST HAVE Requirements

1) Min. 6 years experience managing large-scale SAP HR implementations (v4.6+) and upgrades.

2) At least 2 full life-cycle implementations as Project Manager for a large team responsible for application development, interfaces, reports, and/or data conversion analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.

3) Experience qualifying and pursuing SAP HR sales opportunities.

4) Strong verbal and written communications skills.

· BA in Computer Science/Mathematics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

Essential Job Functions:

· Lead and participate with business user and technical groups to identify, analyze and document business intelligence opportunities and business requirements

· Develop Data Warehouse data matrices, index plans and implementation plans

· Create logical, physical and dimensional data models and design complex ETL plan logic, mapping matrices and specifications

· Manage the detailed design, development, testing and deployment of data architectures in an Oracle/Unix environment

· Develop, maintain and execute test scripts and plans, and play an active roll in project rollouts

· Coordinate with business applications team in identifying, analyzing and documenting information sources and resolving issues

· Participate in ongoing maintenance and performance tuning

· Ensure the availability and accuracy of data warehouse data

· Provide production support in the identification and resolution of data or technical issues

· Provide off-hours support as needed for production issues

· Coordinate with Infrastructure, Technical Services and DBA groups for the implementation and support of the physical data warehouse environment

· Manage and execute data retention strategies

· Support technology improvement, reviewing and recommending new technology

· Fulfill complex adhoc query/analysis/reporting requests and assist department members in using and supporting end users with various reporting tools

· Prepare and provide statistics on data warehouse ETL performance and usage

· Develop automated methods to proactively identify data quality or technical issues

· Participate in developing and maintaining standards and best practices

· Train coworkers in analytical and technical skills and techniques, including development of training materials and documentation as needed

· Create and manage project plans as needed

· Travel to off-site locations to participate in work sessions with business users or in off-site seminars and training

Candidate should have 3-5 years HP server hardware experience in racking, troubleshooting, and upgrading.

Windows NT4, 2000, and 2003 support experience with some rollouts under their belt. Experience managing sites remotely.

Active directory and NT4 domain management background.


Must be able to work either the 7am - 3pm shift or the 11am - 7pm shift with lots of overtime required. 2 weekends a month of onsite support for patching, rollouts etc. Oncall support is required overnight for a week at a time and must be available to come in if necessary.

Under general supervision, monitors, and maintains hardware, and software on computing platforms. Configures, assembles and installs Wintel/Unix servers and/or peripheral equipment. Performs first line support for service interruptions such as printer routings, power outages, wiring problems, and malfunctioning servers. Escalates unresolved problems to expedite resolution. Upgrades, modifies and replaces server hardware, components. Monitors system performance, gathers data, and prepares management reports.
