Technical skills required:
- At least 5 years previous experience supporting a Production Sun Solaris and/or Linux server environment within a trading company is required.

- The ability to do basic programming in an administrative language such as shell, Perl or Python.

- A thorough understanding of Solaris (especially with Solaris 10) and the ability to configure major components will be needed. This includes devices and their management along with processes and their associated management tools.

- Performance analysis using system tools such as dtrace, kstat, prstat, mpstat, vmstat, etc., the ability to find root causes to problems, and recommending and implementing solutions to problems.

- An understanding of TCP/IP and all UNIX networking protocols and services is expected, such as NIS, DNS, NFS, SMTP, and IMAP.
