Downtown Chicago company is in search of a Network resource with strong VMWare experience. The Network Administrator will be responsible for managing application level administration, proactively monitoring and providing light Citrix Server support, supporting application servers and core infrastructure including but not limited to: SonicWall firewall, Active Directory, and Exchange 2003. The candidate will utilize system tools to proactively support the over approximately 70 Windows client devices, printer deployments and approximately 20 Windows servers.
Daily tasks include some Windows 2000 – XP support while maintaining regional IT priorities. Installation and configuring VMWare ESX server operating systems and applications is a very important aspect of this position. Other tasks include: developing and documenting back-up routines, taping rotation and taping storage processes for all servers, and monitoring to ensure failed or incomplete back-ups are rectified. The engineer will also define and document process for managing service requests to restore data from back-ups. The right Network Administrator will participate in a positive team working environment with technical staff and other departments.

Experience: VmWare, Citrix, SonicWall, Active Directory, MS Exchange Server, basic batch scripting experience needed. Experience with Veritas Backup Exec., Symantec Antivirus and Spam filters as well.SAN and WSUS experience are also required. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with end users. On-call infrastructure support experiences a must. Microsoft Exchange 2003 installation and maintenance experience a must. Small and large scale deployment and migration project experience. Experience with security management tools. Hands-on experience configuring and supporting routers and data switches in both WAN and LAN environments. Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols, WAN protocols, and good troubleshooting skills are a must. Experience with SOX audit documentation a plus. Must be a team player, have project planning, change control, and excellent communication skills.
