Salary: $112,000 to $120,000



Overview:

The Senior Project Manager for Cyber Infrastructure, Facilities and Resource Planning provides project management and technical leadership on all infrastructure planning and operations for the central data and network centers as well as their distributed components, including assessing risk. The infrastructure includes the critical systems of power, cooling, uninterruptible power equipment including generators and systems, physical security, space management, etc. This position interacts with all levels within the company and outside vendors and consultants. It is critical to the day to day operations of these important University resources and planning to ensure continued focus on the expansion requirements.



Responsibilities:

- Overseeing, interfacing and managing internal resources and/or outside firms that design, install, support and supply cyber infrastructure components and support services

- Managing successful outcomes, including contracts, documentation, budgets, etc

- Proactively assessing and planning requirements for all of the support systems associated with the cyber center, including but not limited to power (both AC and DC), cooling, physical security, physical space management, cable pathways and other infrastructure requirements to ensure that the availability of the support systems match or exceed the requirements defined by the computing and networking systems housed within the facility(s)

- Monitoring and managing usage of critical support systems on an ongoing basis

- Serving as consultant and in-house expert in cyber center infrastructure engineering to ensure services are provided without interruption or as defined by system requirements, including managing the deployment processes, to ensure the operational integrity is met

- Performing other related duties as required or assigned



Requirements:

- Minimum 10-15 years in data center/network center environment

- Experience in complex computing and networking environment, large scale UPS/generator back-up systems/battery plants, electrical systems - AC & DC, HVAC, fire suppression, overall cyber center design, racking and cabling standards

- Excellent project management skills

- Excellent verbal and written skills

- Demonstrated skills in leadership, people management, including risk management, project management, and strong commitment to excellence

- Ability to maintain flexibility and openness to a rapidly changing environment

Technical experience is a must, demonstrated by knowledge of server/networking hardware, data facilities/data center hardware and engineering design and Telecom, knowledge of operating systems (Windows & UNIX/LINUX)

- Four-year college degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Science) or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired



Preferred Qualifications:

- An electrical engineering degree and or at least 15 years certification experience in complex computing and networking environment focused on infrastructure, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired

- Extensive knowledge of power, cooling, fire suppression, security, safety and other cyber infrastructure components to support computing and networking, including physical security and the use of automated notification systems

- Familiarity with the internal support processes preferred
