Our client in Downtown Chicago is currently looking for Telecom Engineer, with excellent background in designing, implementing and supporting telecommunications systems to include data and voice technologies. This position will be a key role in the designing, implementing and supporting of the organization’s MPLS, VoIP and Co-Location infrastructure. This candidate will be analyzing telecommunications requirements and recommend equipment and systems configurations. The responsibilities also include formulating telecommunications systems requirements and procedures for processing and communicating data and other information;
Assisting in the design, maintenance and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans as well as network systems related policies and procedures;
Reviewing and analyzing the phone system/data communications equipment costs, long distance/transmission costs, and volume of phone/data related calls and also
Designing systems to make appropriate use of available facilities and equipment

Experience: The ideal Telecom Engineer must have experience with legacy PBX systems such as Nortel and Avaya;4.Extensive experience with physical infrastructure components such as structured cabling, cooling and power; 4 years of direct experience with Cisco networking to include Call Manager, Call Manager Express, routers, switches, wireless access and security hardware; Bachelor&#146;s degree in Telecommunications/Network Management or other related field or 5 to 7 years of experience in telecommunications administration. The ideal candidate must have a CCNA.
