Job Summary
This position leads and directs the staff and activities of an operations analysis area and acts as senior level technical expert within functional area of expertise responsible for providing senior management with analysis, guidance and strategic recommendations to support the business portfolio and/or operations.


IT Financial Management, Operational Results and Business Value Realization:
Lead the Financial and Operational elements of the Annual Planning Process for IT. Partner with IT Strategy, Reporting, and Communication role for the Annual Planning process to ensure Annual Plan meets the expectations of the corporation from a financial and strategy perspective.
Financial and Operational Management responsibilities:
Lead the Reporting Initiative to develop and implement actionable reporting the ensures the IT Organization has visibility to the right information to successfully deliver the Annual Plan
Monthly Financial Management Meeting
Monthly Operational results by Domain (move from monthly meetings to re –vamp Operations Review)
Monthly Operational results by Business Deliver yTeam
Monthly Operational Results by Portfolio
Monthly IT Investment Review of new investments and benefits
Develop Reporting needs for Transformation Results
Capital Planning
Controllership for Capitalization Process and Business Value Realization
Drive methodology and achievement of benefit realization by partnering with Corporate Finance
Put in place the methodology and process to ensure ties to CBA and business plans
Communicate out results to business and EMC
Other ad hoc projects/responsibilities:
Affiliate Reporting
Liaison with Corporate Real Estate; IT restack/floor management
ALP Project Support


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Directs, plans, and controls all activities and staff of an operations analysis area and has full management responsibility for performance and development of subordinate staff in accordance with corporate strategic directions.
2. Determines and develops departmental strategies to maximize performance and improve business results. Presents recommendations to senior management.
3. Acts as technical resource within functional area of expertise.
4. Liaisons with internal stakeholders to build collaboration, foster cross functional learning, and ensure consistency.
5. Stays current on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and the insurance industry. Monitors local, state, and federal changes in government regulations.

May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship

Typically AVP or above
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

1. In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, its products, practices and operations.
2. Ability to exercise professional judgment and assume responsibility for decisions which have an impact on business goals.
3. Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
4. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
5. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.
6. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
7. Ability to achieve results by taking a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives.
8. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2. Minimum eight years progressive experience in the insurance industry.
3. Direct management and/or project management experience strongly preferred.
