They will be training a C Rapid Response Developer in Sydney for approximately 1 year in anticipation of them working in Chicago as part of a team of 4.My clients main focus is on market making, relative value trading and arbitrage in a variety of securities. The client trades in equity derivatives (stocks and indices), cash equities, FX, fixed income and energy across major financial exchanges. employs over 170 talented Traders, Software Developers and Professionals worldwide, with offices in London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Sydney and WollongongRapid Response is the development function that deals with urgent support requests from trading floors. It is critical that Rapid Response developers have intimate understanding of all systems and can work quickly and effectively under pressure. Essential Skills and QualificationsProduces the fastest and best trading tools by: Gaining a detailed understanding of option pricing theory, market making and trading conditions Gaining a detailed understanding of in-house and 3rd party applications used by Trading ( Trading Applications ) Providing 3rd level support for all Trading Applications Performing triage on support issues received Diagnosing, writing unit tests for and resolving critical system defects and managing fixes into production Collaborating with Rapid Response colleagues in other time zones Improves our development speed by: Helping the QA Team to understand issues that occur in production and how to test for them Helping the various project teams understand issues that occur in production and how to prevent them Sharing knowledge of Trading Applications with other developersEssential: Exceptional C skills Experience in developing with STL and/or Bost Experience in developing performance-sensitive systems, especially in optimizing data structures for memory utilization and speedDesirable to have experience in one or more of: Developing automated trading systems Post-mortem debugging, especially with GNU Debugger Developing unit tests Cross-platform (Windows & Linux) developmentEssential: Ability to work quickly and under pressure Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong desire and ability to learn Excellent attention to detail Natural inclination to share and collaborate Diligent and persistentPlease forward your resume to (see below) Project People Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
