Location: Chicago, IL Type of Position: Contract Description: The desired Lead Programmer will assist in the retirement of a Legacy trading application (IRP). Coordination with other groups to remove their dependency on its data, building a historical data tool, and assist with the migration to the new platform. Must be able to lead a team, coordinate with others, understand a complex application to help drive its retirement. The Lead Programmer will split his/her time between T-SQL and Querries via Sybase v11.9 and v12.5(50%) and J2ee, EJB, JDBC (50%). Must also have experience with Weblogic. Financical and GUI knowledge beneficial. Responsibilities:Perform a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements. Maintain and modify programs. Refine data and format final product. Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending flow charts, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes. Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part. Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor. Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
