The Senior SQA Analyst is responsible for conducting a wide range of quality analyses and testing activities, under direct or moderate supervision, to ensure that system solutions meet specified standards and requirements. The Senior SQA Analyst follows established QA and testing methods in all work efforts. They participate in creation of test cases and scripts according to established methodologies and may participate in test planning. This individual creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow. The Senior SQA Analyst executes tests, documents problems, and re-tests software corrections to ensure problems are resolved. This individual applies established testing standards and methodologies, and suggests improvements. This individual implements testing standards and methodologies. This individual acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less-experienced staff.


Core Responsibilities

1) Business and Leadership 20%
a) Develop and/or continue to expand industry knowledge of process and best practices
b) Develop and/or continue to improve partnerships with external key organizations to network, share best practices, and lessons learned
c) Develop and/or continue to improve partnerships with key organization leadership and key members of their departments
d) Continue to learn and expand industry best practices related to state-of-the art testing practices

2) Planning and Workload Management 20%
a) Assist with development and maintenance of project plans such that they are always aligned with company and business plans and priorities
b) Assure assigned tasks in project plans are completed with high quality, standard deliverables and within agreed upon schedule and budget estimates

3) Governance 20%
A) Assist with development and maintenance of testing policies
b) Assist with development and maintenance of testing procedures, standards, and metrics
c) Assist with definition of testing roles & responsibilities
d) Assist with evaluation of new testing tools and methods and make recommendations, as necessary assist with training and implementation of new testing technologies

4) Writing and Executing Test Cases 40%
a) Review functional and non-functional requirements for completeness and testability
b) Create detailed test cases, test scripts and test data as assigned; may participate in test planning
c) Execute test cases, accurately record status of test case execution daily during test execution, and communicate variances to plan
d) Research and document defects that are identified, and follows through to resolution, including re-testing.
e) Evaluate and update testing assets

Education/Work experience
2 7 years experience in the software development industry.
2 5 years experience writing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts.
Professional certifications preferred.
Graduation from an accredited College or University with a bachelors degree is preferred.


Experience: Skills
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
