POSITION SUMMARY
The Systems Management Engineer provides technical expertise in integrating and deploying the standard desktop image, software packages, patches, and updates to the Grant Thornton technology environment in an efficient and timely manner. This person also proactively analyzes and reports on hardware assets, computer configurations, and software installs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Administer and support of Microsoft SMS 2003 hierarchy.
-Package and compile software installations, patches and fixes.
-Integrate software packages and updates and distribute of them in a timely manner to needed computer systems across the firm.
-Implement SQL database knowledge to generate useful reports for tracking software and hardware inventories for systems across the firm.
-Administer and support Active Directory Group Policy settings.
-Administer and design DFS ( distributed file system ) and FSR ( file system replication ) implementations.
-Work closely with information technology ( IT ) and non-IT groups in providing quick resolution to software rollout issues.
-Communicate IT policies, procedures, and deployments to all Grant Thornton U.S. offices.
-Administer and support any other systems and applications under the Systems Management Group realm.
-Continued focus on new technologies and development of skills in the industry.
-Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience.
-At least 2 years of experience with application, update, and patch deployment required.
-Previous experience in the professional services or accounting industry in a medium to large organization a plus.
-SMS 2003 experience ( administration and reporting ).
-Experience with Microsoft imaging technologies and Connected Backup highly desired.
-Wise installer experience for packaging software.
-SQL server and SQL query knowledge preferred.
-Microsoft Group Policy experience.
-Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills.
-Strong organizational and time management skills.
-Strong problem solving and analytical skills required.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Ability to work independently while contributing as a team member.
