Quickly identify and resolve problems with Dyson?s most mission critical systems; primarily Dyson?s servers, Avaya digital phone/voicemail system, desktop PC?s/laptops and all other mission critical hardware and software. Essential areas include Exchange Server 5.5, Windows, BES Server 3.5 and 4.0, NT 4.0, Windows 2000/2003 server, Windows XP Professional, MS Office XP and 2003. Setup and configuration of all Avaya digital phones and station programming on Dyson?s Definity Audix phone system Hardware support and problem resolution of primarily Hewlett Packard Servers, Desktop PC?s and laptops; escalating faults to vendor. Support of the Dyson Chicago LAN and first line support of Dyson?s global WAN Provide support and assistance to Dyson U.S. Blackberry users Administration and support the Dyson?s 2003 Active Directory / Windows NT hybrid domain and all associated tasks (user & group creation/management, managing shares, permissions, etc). Develop and maintain existing network infrastructure documentation. Perform new hardware and software implementations as directed by supervisor.Gather requirements, co-ordinate and implement IT projects which enhance and develop the technology deployed within the Dyson IT infrastructure. At least 3 years of hands-on, solid experience supporting IT services within a large global organization. Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience Solid understanding with Ethernet, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, firewalls, VPN and common routing protocols (e.g. RIP/RIP2, EGRP, etc). Expertise with enterprise-level technologies used to combat spyware, viruses and spam Solid, proficient problem-diagnosis skills in range of system types or applications; ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot problems on a variety of systems and applications. Experience with supporting a large remote user base utilizing remote desktop applications Prior exposure to disaster recovery planning and implementation using technologies such as Veritas Backup Exec. Experience working with VPN technologies, preferably SonicWall Familiarity with Blackberry handhelds and Blackberry Server Enterprise products Ability to see the big picture and work as part of a global support team. Able to translate between user/management and IS technical language. Experience with the planning and execution of IT-related projects while communicating progress to all key parties.
