POSITION SUMMARY The Business Analyst supports Grant Thornton's application systems and ensures "business" compliance based on the business policies implemented. Additionally, the Business Analyst supports the Senior Business Analyst in facilitating requirement definitions for new enterprise systems and analyzes existing processes to help streamline the operation of all firm enterprise systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITES -Draft communications related to the functional support of all firm application systems. -Analyze business processes related to applications. -Capture, analyze, and document enhancement requests for all application systems. -Work with firm management to help set strategic direction of applications systems currently in use at the firm. -Work with firmwide business units to define system needs at a conceptual level. -Collaborate with key business owners of firm systems to prioritize enhancement requests. -Support the Senior Business Analysts on current and ongoing project initiatives. -Document new application reports on the intranet prior to release. -Work with Application Development and Management team to ensure that delivered reports meet functional specifications. -Develop and maintain a matrix that identifies report interrelationships. -Liaise with the CMS Support Center to ensure fluid communication of CMS issues and resolution. -Test CMS financial and analytical reports accuracy. -Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that required discretion. -Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis. -Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS -Bachelor's degree in business or related field. MBA is desirable. -1 to 2 years of experience working with or supporting financial systems. -2 to 3 years of experience in finance or accounting role. -Public accounting or audit background a plus. -Strong analytical skills ( preferably in the financial area ). -Understanding of relational databases. -Prior business systems implementation experience a plus. -Experience with Microsoft Office ( Outlook, Word, Excel. PowerPoint ). -Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio and SQL experience a plus. -Lawson and CMS knowledge ( or similar systems ) a plus. -Good time management skills, i.e. the ability to take on and prioritize several tasks. -Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. -High level of professionalism. -Ability to take initiative in developing and refining processes related to the functional support of CMS and other applications. -Ability to effectively communicate issues to the senior business analyst and CMS end users. -Reports to Business Analysis Manager. -Ability to work extra hours as needed. -100% in-office work arrangement required; Infrequent overtime required (evenings / weekends).
