POSITION SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Senior Business Analyst is to functionally support Grant Thornton's reporting and application systems and to ensure "business" compliance based on the business policies implemented. The Senior Business Analyst will support the Manager of Business Analysis and Reporting in defining requirements for the data warehouse, business intelligence initiatives, and enterprise systems. The incumbent will take the role of project manager for assigned projects and will also be a resource for a variety of projects. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Participate in the full development life cycle for enterprise-wide reporting efforts including push, pull, and ad hoc technology (which may often lead to application, data mart, and process changes). -Provide business process and other business knowledge in design and ongoing growth of the firm's data marts and data warehouse. -Apply Grant Thornton's project management methodology to assigned projects. -Capture, analyze, and monitor enhancement requests for reporting and application systems. -Analyze business processes related to Grant Thornton reporting and applications. -Collaborate with key business owners of GT systems to prioritize enhancement requests. -Liaise with the Application Support Center to ensure fluid communication of reporting issues and resolution. -Draft communications related to the functional support of Grant Thornton reports, reporting sources, and application systems. -Assist in analyzing and assessing the feasibility of proposed enhancement requests for reports and application systems. -Document the refresh process and maintenance schedules for Grant Thornton data marts, OLAP cubes, and cube-based reports. -Draft procedures related to supporting CMS (time and expense tracking software) and other application systems (not documenting its functionality - this would be the role of training). -Test report functionality and accuracy. -Work closely with customers and end-users to ensure that reports meet the business need. -Ensure new reports are properly documented on the Intranet prior to release. -Work as a team member of the Business Analysis and Reporting department to support current and ongoing initiatives. -Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion. -Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis. -Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS -Bachelor's degree. MBA is desirable. -Strong analytical skills (preferably in the financial area). -3+ years of experience working with and/or supporting financial systems. -2-3 yrs. experience in finance/accounting role. -Public accounting/audit background is helpful. -Understanding of relational databases. -Experience with data marts, data warehousing, and OLAP tools and techniques. -Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio. -SQL experience strongly desired. -Strong project management skills and demonstrated leadership skills. -Good time management skills, i.e. the ability to take on and prioritize several tasks. -Good communication skills, both oral and written. -Good interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism. -Ability to work extra hours as needed. -100% in-office work arrangement required; Infrequent overtime required (evenings / weekends) To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
