Job Description: We are looking for an individual to work as part of a small team, developing software tools to support broker activities through actuarial evaluation of client-needs and solutions. This individual should feel comfortable in a highly customer-driven environment. They will be able to balance variable short term priorities with steady progress towards a strategic goal. For a period of around eighteen months the individual's primary responsibilities will relate to the design and development of a critical reinsurance evaluation system addressing the probable financial and economic impact of corporate reinsurance programs. The application will replace the current internationally used reinsurance simulation tool, with more extensive and user-friendly capabilities. As well as providing the opportunity to develop and apply software skills using innovative design in a highly competitive market, the project will provide new intellectual challenges as the developer assimilates new concepts related to financial and actuarial modeling., and will provides opportunities for team -members to develop mathematical and financial modeling skills to the extent of their interest. Qualifications: The individual hired will have at least five years experience in software development, and a good grasp of object-oriented software design concepts and languages. We prefer specific experience with? ? VB.NET or C# ? .NET WinForms Though candidates may be considered if they have extensive and recent experience with Windows programming using C++ and Visual Basic, and a mathematical background. Other valuable - though not required - skills include? ? Excel and VBA ? Familiarity with basic financial concepts (economic/present values, accrual accounting etc). ?
