Genesis10 is seeking a Release Iteration Manager in Chicago for a 3-6 month contract position.

Role: Release Iteration Manager Role



Responsibilities:

. Mechanics of each release, including: unlocking for check-ins, coordinating builds, tracking DR and CR verification and completion, tracking iteration and release milestones, reporting to management, coordination of cut over and maintaining development velocity.

. Transition from release to release. Documentation archives, release notes, conducting and documenting surveys and lessons learned and turn over to Production Operations.

. SharePoint site management.

. Day to day issue management. Interface with QA, developers and deployment to ensure issues are addressed in a timeframe appropriate to the priority.

Duties

. Facilitate daily Stand up meeting. Prepare and publish meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.

. Facilitate daily testing issues meeting. Update issue tracking tool with information from meeting. Follow up on issues as needed.

. Create daily turn over to Offshore Support team, including preparing updated testing issues list and compiling updates from QA.

. Coordination of builds and deployments for point releases into non-Production environments. Interface with QA, Dev, CM team, and deployment for appropriate timing.

. Facilitate Pre-iteration Planning meeting, to determine capacity and scope for next iteration and to review outstanding release risk items.

. Facilitate Iteration Planning meeting to close out completed iteration and begin next iteration. This includes preparation of the slides, facilitation of tasking process and preparation of cards for wall.

. Maintain Jira (issue tracking software) items for each iteration.

. Work with Scope and Governance Manager to determine stories that are ready for iteration.

. Work with Business Line Representative to determine priority of stories ready for iteration.

. Document daily progress for each iteration and update the iteration tracker as required.

. Document iteration and release process, work flows and transitions.

. Prepare and facilitate cut over weekend for releases, including: Release notes, gathering release sign offs, creation and execution of cut over weekend plan and turn over to Production Operations.

. Administer SharePoint by understanding limitations and processes needed to move from one release to another.

. Communicate regularly with Configuration Management team to ensure timely delivery of new branches or changes around build process.



Role Dependencies

. Communication to Project Manager on updates to golden list, project plan or milestones, and Release activities for reporting purposes.

. Coordination with Environment Manager for scheduled down time and weekend project plan for non-production environments.

. Communication from Governance Manager on scope item and defect additions for Releases.




Experience: Required Skills:

. Strong Project Management background. Experience ranging from information gathering to delivery. Manage more than one project at a given time. (2 years minimum)

. Java/OO programming environment experience ( familiarity with a structured development environment)

. MS Project, SharePoint, Excel, Word and Visio (Intermediate/Expert level in all 4)



Recommended Skills:

. Jira (issue tracking software), Perforce (configuration management software), ClearCase (revision control software) and Clear Quest (bug tracking software for SDLC) (2 years intense usage is strong plus)

. Experience with CMMI, ISO, 6-Sigma, or other quality methodologies / processes

. Experience with RUP (Rational Unified Process) or Iterative process.



Very nice to Have:

Investment banking experience (from the technology side) would be a big plus
