The Helpdesk/IT Support Technician is charged with providing on-site and remote level I helpdesk and technical support as well as general tasks related to network administration and special projects. The primary functions of the successful candidate: Provide end user desktop technical support services for users of a Microsoft based network. Technologies supported include Windows XP/2000, MS Office, MS Exchange, Cisco VPN, general networking, wireless networking, SharePoint Portal Server, Active Directory, printing, and more. Maintain the help desk support logging system. Maintain the Information Technology inventory system Perform various IT networking functions as needs arise Document existing and future technical, procedural and functional information Write up technical how-to documents for use by IT staff and general users. Escalate technical issues as needed. Provide shift coverage that will include weekend and/or evening support. MCP Preferred The successful candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
