We have a client in need of a full time permanent Linux Systems Engineer for the following:


• A Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience as Systems Engineer / Administrator preferably in the financial industry
• Strong knowledge of Linux (SUSE) and Solaris 8,9,10 - VMWARE, Sun (LDOMS,Containers) a plus.
• Operating System (OS) security skills
• Installation and configuration of OS and tools
• Solid Veritas experience (FS, Netbackup Clustering)
• OS and Hardware troubleshooting skills.
• Patch management experience.
• RDP/kickstart/jumpstart.
• Shell Scripting (KSH/Perl)
• OS Related Network knowledge
• Basic understanding of middleware products including websphere, MQ, JAVA
• Basic understanding working with Sybase and Oracle DB setups from an Unix administration stand point - Oracle-Rac a Plus
• Understanding of EMC DMX server side connectivity, including HBA installation, firmware upgrades, powerpath, DMP, OS lun allocation and troubleshooting
• Hardware knowledge HPx86 standalone (blades), IBMx86 Standalone(blades) , SUNx86 as well as SPARC including M5K series
