POSITION SUMMARY: Currently, we have an excellent career opportunity available for a Procurement Manager at Aon Warranty Group. This position will initially be located in Glenview before relocating to downtown Chicago.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, directs and manages the central procurement activities under direction of the IT manager
Develops, reviews and approves new or improved administrative, purchasing and clerical procedures to maintain economy and efficiency of operation
Evaluates overall revisions, price and past performance of each contract and approves price increases
Maintains liason with purchasing reps of other business units to join in cooperative buying when beneficial
Researches and evaluates commodity areas and makes recommendations for standardization and additions to Qualified Products
Supervise and participate in preparation of written financial and administrative reports
Creates responses to special correspondence, handles responses to vendor inquiries and bids
Establish priorities, assigns workloads and reviews complex assignments
Interprets contract provisions and reviews for accuracy and changes prior to bid and renewal
Liason to vendors, contractors and Aon Warranty management globally
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamlines processes and provide quality customer service

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years experience managing multiple projects involving introducing new enterprise technologies and in procurement of new HW/SW acquisitions
4 years experience, 2 of which involved managing the procurement activities of a moderate to high volume procurement section including experience in contract administration and writing
Experience with laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and other requirements governing the purchase of commodities and services for large corporations
Accounting practices as applied to procurement procedures

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in MIS, CS or business or public administration degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience in management of technology related business units
CPP or CPM certification desired
