Description:

1. Responsible for playing a major role in analyzing, defining and documenting requirements for data, volume, conceptual process, aggregation and DB connectivity between internal and external systems.
2. Responsible for leading design meeting and reviews, developing and maintaining core database design, providing architectural leadership to cultivate teams and serving as the primary database architecture resource.
3. Assist in vendor and product evaluation related to database and/or data modeling needs.
4. Responsible for quality of the implemented database solution and adherence to database best practices and/or standards.
5. Identify and promote the definition and reuse of common business process/practices related to the integration points.
6. Assist with application business analysis and model prototyping sessions.
7. Assist in interpret business analysis documentation (including Use Cases and Software Requirement Specifications) to database design artifacts.
8. Assist with database (performance) test planning and execution.
9. Provide estimate models for developing deliverables and system deployment tasks.
10. Assist in developing capacity planning strategy.
11. Oversee the implementation of the system development methodology within the development cycle related to database triggers, stored procedures, SQL, capacity planning, archival, and database framework/foundation.
12. High proficiency with Oracle DB, flat and typical RDBMS solutions.
13. Perform 2nd-tier support.




Experience: Skills:

Excellent understanding of industry standard software development methodology (required).
2. Expert at data modeling, data optimization, transaction lifecycle and component based design (CDB) models (required).
3. Expert in modeling not limited to: ERWIN, flat file definitions, normalization, high data volume optimization, VLDBs and database tuning (required).
4. Very proficient in writing and tuning of procedures and packages (required).
5. Ability to architect high performing and scalable database solutions (required).
6. Strong leadership and mentoring skills (required).
7. Ability to work in a team environment (required).
8. Excellent organizational, modeling, oral and written communication skills (required).
9. Experience with management of database instances related to multiple concurrent projects (required).
10. Demonstrated experience in applying lg database (min 2 TB) design techniques to high volume data warehouse/mart environments, implementing data optimization, capacity management, and back-up procedures (Rman) (required).
11. Experience in developing in Linux with strong shell scripting skills (required).
12. Goal and deadline oriented (required).
13. Prior consulting experience (plus).
14. Experience working with DB2 (plus).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

1. B.S. degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience.
2. 8+ years overall technical experience in database administration and management (required).
3. 4+ years of enterprise level data modeling (required).
4. 4+ years data warehouse modeling direct experience (required).
5. 2+ years Rapid Application Development (RAD) (required).
6. 2+ years leading software development teams of at least 4 persons (plus).
