SkilGroup, Inc. is in immediate need of a Business Process Outsourcing Consultant. Our client is in need of an individual with business process outsourcing/re-engineering skills, preferably with outsourcing business processes to India and/or in the insurance industry. Qualified candidates must have the following skills and experience: experience in operations improvement and process management; demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify and solve difficult business problems; strong project management capabilities and ability to supervise the work of several concurrent projects; the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; independent judgment and a high degree of responsibility for actions and recommendations; a demonstrated ability to create good working relationships and deal with difficult workplace situations (people in some of the branches will lose their jobs due to this process change) and training/facilitation experience as this person will work with the offices to train them in how to set up the processes to move information/documents, etc. to India, how to receive info/docs from India, etc. Previous consulting experience in a Big 5 or other consulting firm is a major plus and a bachelors degree in business, industrial engineering, or related field is required. Our client has developed a process to outsource much of the process of writing, maintaining, modifying, etc. insurance policies to India for their client. The role of the consultant is to go to the branch offices and work with the staff there to begin implementing this process. The process is focused on moving the processing of the insurance work mentioned above to India it has little to do with IT or technology changes. It is mainly business process changes and outsourcing. The consultant needs to learn the process, go to the branch office and work with staff there to begin installing the process, work through the changes it will have on the operation of the branch office, train staff in how the process works, train staff in interacting with folks in India, etc. Other than this change the branch/satellite offices will function as they always have and there is a major focus of making sure the installation of this process does not interrupt they day to day business of the branch. Some staff will have to learn a new role/parts of a role to do the India interaction. Some people will lose their jobs the consultant needs to have experience in sensitive situations like that and know how to work through them and maintain a positive atmosphere in the office to the best extent possible. This is a 6+ month project that will initially be based in Chicagoland. However, eventually it will be up to 100% travel. Chicago-based consultants are preferred, but individuals will to travel to Chicago initially will be considered.
