Role: Data Analyst - Medicare Risk Adjustment
Location: Chicago

Assignment Summary
The Medicare Risk Adjustment Data Analyst prepares, analyzes and reviews MRA data, transactions and reports. Responsibilities include database creation and management, identifying ways to re-engineer current reports and processes, converting ad hoc reports to Excel and Access and monitoring data being worked, logged and reported. In addition, this role may conduct research regarding claim status and update system information. This role serves as a resource to providers, office staff, internal and external customers regarding MRA. The Data Analyst provides exemplary service to ensure success in a rapidly changing health care environment.

Responsibilities Include:
Downloads and processes all MRA reports, converting all information to Access and Excel as required
Analyzes data for completeness and accuracy
Develops and maintains databases necessary for effective and efficient reporting
Monitors all incoming and outgoing data reporting
Strives to find new ways to more accurately capture and report data
Completes appropriate paperwork/documentation/system entry regarding claim/encounter information as required
Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving ability regarding barriers to accurate reporting and transmission of data
Provides training and education and serve as a resource to internal and external customers regarding MRA
Supports and participates in process and quality improvement initiatives
Other duties as assigned

Role Essentials

Advanced skill level with MS Office XP products, specifically Access and Excel
Knowledge and use of VBA, SQL
3-5 years experience in database management and data reporting
High school diploma or equivalent; BA/BS Preferred
Knowledge and experience in health care environment/managed care preferred
Professional demeanor and appearance, strong work ethic, reliable, resourceful, enthusiastic, team player with positive attitude
