Overview:

The Systems Designer will work in an effective and timely manner within the CRM-EDI IT Application Team and business units. He/she will also work with external customers to refine EDI document specifications, participate in EDI project implementations and support production EDI systems (including off-hours support) as well as performing analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, support and implementation of in-house computer programs in accordance specifications and standards. Limited travel may be required.



Required Qualifications:

- Excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.

- Thorough knowledge of applicable programming languages, tools, and other application information technologies.

- Must have the ability to quickly come up to speed, work proactively with others in a team environment and meet deadlines.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.

- Must demonstrate strong time management skills, high work initiative, adaptability, and superior judgment.

- Must be able to function as an experienced member of the staff, to mentor new and/or less experienced team members, and to provide input to project planning efforts.

- Relevant and demonstrable experience with EDI (AS1/2, ANSI X12 standards), XML, ftp, http, public/private key certificates, EDI translators (IBM WebSphere DI preferred; Gentran or WebMethods is acceptable) and EDI-INT (EDI over Internet) server applications (Inovis BizConnect BizManager).

- Strong knowledge of mainframe environments, including commonly accepted tools for development and testing (ISPF/TSO, JCL, Panvalet, Intertest, etc.); experience with mainframe online processing, batch processing and commonly used file structures.

- Strong COBOL, DB2, CICS, SQL application development experience required.



Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience developing XML transforms/translations.

- May be called upon to review the work of others and perform QA testing.

- Ability to work with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.



Education/Years of Experience:

- 8 to10+ years development experience in IBM S/390 environment.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
