Robert Half Technology has a great opportunity in downtown Chicago for a Helpdesk Support Technician. The responsibilities for this position will include assisting in daily PC helpdesk troubleshooting, maintain documentation and training material for supported services, communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Candidate may participate in infrastructure projects, as well as test new equipment and systems prior to implementation. Implement and communicate new technology to internal end users. Maintain software and hardware inventory/asset database, desktop and laptop configuration, create corporate LAN and e-mail accounts and establish VPN for remote users, Windows 2000 and XP Systems Administration, Application support for MS Office XP/2003, Exchange, Advantage, DNS/DHCP/WINS, Active Directory management and TCP/IP troubleshooting skills. Also, must be able to troubleshoot IT issues with end users related to printing, e-mail, file server access, internet access, PDA syncing, voicemail, etc. Experience deploying, monitoring and performance tuning PC workstations and in backup/recovery.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
