Our Client located in a Chicago suburb currently seeks a APPLICATIONS ARCHITECT for DIRECT-HIRE or CONTRACT-TO-HIRE.Required Skills-Ability to demonstrate and provide evidence of past work involving the translation of abstract requirements into tight, concise, and an actionable design Analytical ability to breakdwon larger problems into components. 3-5 years of hands-on software design experience, in a demonstrable, real-world environment. experience in database design, process flow design, and object-oriented/based thinkingSome level of technical document creation experienceThe architect will be responsible for understanding a set of business requirements and transform the same into a technical specification. The technical solution should be consistent with the overall application architecture, and must be compliant with the prescribed design standards for the application. To accomplish this, the individual must be able to demonstrate skills needed to participate in a) joint requirements analysis sessions with business analysts, and b) joint application prototyping sessions involving front-end and back-end developers. The architect should be able to quickly gain an understanding of the underlying business problem, and use that to formulate a series of plausible solutions. In conjunction with the architectural manager and other key stakeholders, the architect must be able to identify the optimal solution to a design task.Required Job Knowledge skills and qualifications: Critical knowledge needed to justify the use/avoidance of a design methodology. Ability to demonstrate and provide evidence of past work involving the translation of abstract requirements into tight, concise, and an actionable design Analytical ability to breakdwon larger problems into components. 3-5 years of hands-on software design experience, in a demonstrable, real-world environment. experience in at least one currently extant software development methodology, i.e. RUP, Microsoft Solutions Framework, Anderson Swim Lane methodology.
