Position is 40 hrs/week. Some overtime expected.Duration is 9 monthsWork as part of a team in a high availability and mission critical data center environment. The position requires the knowledge of how to maintain a data center, including but not limited to documentation management, equipment installation, work with structured cabling systems, maintenance procedures, best practices, and troubleshoot cable plant issues with Category 5, 6,Fiber Optic, etc. using test equipment. Some travel between Chicago and suburb data centers. Must be available for weekend and evening work when applicable due to project deadlines, problems, production hours of operation, etc. Must be able to lift equipment of 75 lbs or less into enclosures. Diagnosing Data Center hardware failures and make recommendations to other groups. Participate in project specific discussions and uses advanced understanding to provide recommendations. Trends environmental status and recommends solutions to problem. Articulates predefined reports in meetings with other groups. Implements fixes to existing infrastructure for problem resolution. Participates in Risk/timing/change control/post mortems meetings. Provides suggestions for improvements to existing policies and procedures.
