Director Business Development

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for identifying and building relationships with clients that will result in the sale of Sapient business and technology consulting services through consultative selling
  • Apply knowledge of clients' business and propose value-driven business and technology solutions
  • Expected to leverage senior Sapient executives during the sales process to further the opportunity, negotiate, and close the opportunity
  • Connect, encourage, question, confirm progress and provide information with the customer, creating a clear, positive image of one's self, Sapient, and our services
  • Use best practices in account relationship management processes, including account planning, opportunity development, new buying point expansion, and executive relationship development
  • Demonstrate leadership, be comfortable working in a team environment, and possess the business development skills to identify and close business with new clients
  • Secondary Responsibilities
  • Learn and use Sapient's sales force automation system for contact management, activity management, and opportunity forecasting and pipeline management
  • Frequent overnight and occasional overseas travel is required

    Education:

    Degree:
    BS degree or equivalent required

    Industry:
    At least 7 years of overall work experience in the technology or business industry. Strong preference for solid experience with financial markets.

    Years of Experience:
    A proven track record and 6 years experience in selling professional services environment

    Project Experience:
  • Sr. Mgr and experience selling at Sr. Exec levels of fortune 500
  • Ability to deliver against a $5-7 million annual quota for delivered revenue
  • Demonstrate past success in developing a market with little existing business
  • Specific industry experience at establishing, closing and expanding relationships that lead to complex multi-million dollar engagements
  • Relevant client and industry knowledge/ experience and subject matter expertise (e.g. CRM)
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and messaging skills
  • Strong team player
  • Highly organized and capable of handling several projects simultaneously
  • Excellent business building and leadership skills
  • Ability to self manage and support (i.e. Administrative SFA etc)
