Robert Half Technology is looking for a SAN Engineer to be responsible for the following things: performing hardware troubleshooting, managing spare part inventory, opening trouble tickets and scheduling hardware repairs/service calls. The SAN Engineer will be responsible for hardware inventory, database inventory updates, hardware migrations and removal of end-of-life hardware; responsible for the configuration, testing, implementation and troubleshooting of unix systems – including web services, FTP services, E-Mail, and DNS; responsible for SAN switch configuration (Cisco and Brocade); responsible for SAN storage configuration (EMC and Hitachi); coordinates production environment changes with the computer operations division in order to maintain a stable production environment; hardware inventory, database inventory updates, hardware migrations, and removal of end-of-life hardware. The ideal candidate for this position must have an excellent understanding of replication (SRDF,TrueCopy); ability to collect and analyze performance data, troubleshoot bottlenecks and verbally explain issues to large groups.
