Senior Application Project Manager

**Basel II experience and financial banking experience are required**

A mandatory Basel II institution required to implement the Final U.S. (Basel II) Rules. These rules require a more rigorous methodology for assessing, monitoring and reporting credit risk than is currently in place.

- Senior Project manager is required to manage Common Unique Client Identifier stream
- Basel II and Common Unique Client ident experience preferred but not required
- Need someone who can drive to completion complex project deliverables
- Ability work in matrix team environment and deliver on aggressive timelines
- Experience working with technical team leads and developers




Job Description

- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.

- Candidates with experience in the Waterfall method are preferred.

- Prior financial/bank experience is highly desired.

- At least 8 years experience as a PM is required.

The Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. The Project Manager is responsible for the timely delivery of highly complex and technical system projects; Assembles the project team and develops team goals and objectives to complete the project within prescribed resource limits
and in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards; Identifies resources required for completion of the project and has the authority to
obtain resources as needed; Responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently.


Major Duties

1. Responsible for the timely delivery of highly
complex and technical system projects.

2. Gathers facts, defines objectives, and develops
schedule and deadlines for the project.

3. Develop conceptual system requirements, system
integration requirements, and phasing plan. Conduct
post-install system review.

4. Assembles the project team members
and develops team goals and objectives
to complete the project within prescribed
resource limits and in accordance with client
requirements and departmental standards.

5. Provides guidance to team members on technical
aspects of the project.

6. Responsible for the final determination on technical
and non-technical decisions throughout the project.

7. Identifies the resources required for completion
of the project and has the authority to obtain resources
as needed.

8. Presents project proposals, communication plan, status reports,
and final results to senior level management.

9. Responsible for quality assurance review of the
project and the evaluation and documentation of
team procedures.

10. Responsible for managing the project budget

11. Identify, log and manage issues and risks and take corrective action as needed.

12. Manage the project scope and change control process

13. Maintain documentation (eg. Schedules, requirements, meeting minutes and status reports) in a project repository


Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of various programming languages
usually obtained through a four year degree program in
related technology is required to oversee and manage all phases
of the project.

Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and project management methodologies are required.

Analytical and problem solving skills are needed for systems guidance.

Organizational skills are required to develop and follow through on
project goals and objectives.


Specific Requirements

Experience working with internal clients (business partners)

PMI certification preferred

Knowledge of SDLC methodology required

Experience working with MS Project, Project Server, Lotus Notes, SharePoint, Project Web Access

- This person may need to be flexible with methodology. The ideal candidate must understand what drives methodology - why something is needed and accomplish the 'need' rather than be rigid in the execution.

Accountability: Candidate must meet the deliverable they agree to; whatever it takes. The HM wants a regular, reliable, reporting update of the programs, plans, and governance that is mutually agreed up. If they get behind, they need them to be willing to put the OT in to make it up.

Flexibility: The candidate must be able to work in a flexible, fluid environment. Bend when they need to bend, and mentor others on program management best practices.

Fast: The candidate must work quickly and should be self sufficient; a true "go getter" that is self motivated and ambitious. The individual needs to thrive in a fast paced environment.

Skilled; The candidate must also have strong PM skills and the ability to use automation and tools; this includes MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, etc....
