Join an internationally recognized leading market making proprietary trading firm as a senior developer on the Market Data team. You will work with the current market data software systems and implement the next-generation high-performance market data systems. Responsibilities: -Deliver solutions for next-generation market data infrastructure, primarily the Wombat Financial Software products. -Implement and be a development team expert on a new market data infrastructure solution, integrating with existing data consumer applications, and with new trading system applications. -Work with commercial software vendors, market data providers, and exchanges as required for application development and market data product deployment. -Take ownership of existing market data software components, to understand current functionality and provide interim management and incremental improvements of these systems. -Participate in establishing and reporting of market data system performance metrics, for current and new systems. -Participate in market data system QA and testing, both at the underlying technology systems layer, and at the data integrity and trading system data use layer. -Participate in other financial data development projects, eg the collection and use of historical data for research and testing use by Financial Engineering and others. Qualifications: -Experience building high performance market data direct exchange feedhandlers. -A deep understanding of C . -A thorough understanding of fundamental computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms and complexity analysis. -Experience developing on Linux or UNIX. -Experience in a Scripting language such as Python, Perl or Ruby. -Experience with Wombat market data solutions highly desirable. -Strong analytical abilities. -Exceptional communication and teamwork skills. -A strong sense of ownership and a drive to succeed. -A commitment to implementing and practicing effective development processes.
