$75-$90KKey strengths: VOIP Network, 5ESS, LCS Switch Platforms, Traffic Engineering, Network Trunking, Switch Capacity Responsibilities:Customer and network translations, traffic engineering, network trunking utilization analysis, and switch capacity reporting.Strong knowledge and understanding of Legacy and next generation switching architectures and call processing (specifically 5ESS and LCS switch platforms).Strong knowledge of PSTN and VOIP network architecture as well as interconnection practices.Strong traffic engineering knowledge.Strong hardware and software engineering skill sets.Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of methods, procedures and practices related to telephony Infrastructure, including switching, data products, network engineering and capacity management, disaster recovery, change management, documentation and provisioning of switched and data services.Contribute to testing requirements documents for commercial telephony and data to ensure that product specifications are met.Create documentation and specifications for customer and network translations.Provide training in internal and external departments when needed.Create executable systems designs and analyze specific system elements such as system/feature requirements, equipment sizing, and processes; making appropriate recommendations for change.Conduct regular monitoring, testing and analysis to ensure production requirements are met.Work with vendors to identify software bugs and provide solutions driving them to exceed customer expectations.Responsible for planning and implementing all upgrades and changes to PSTN and VOIP components, including development and presentation (as needed) of clear, comprehensive Statement of Work (SOW) documents to local systems and other affected departments.Resolve complex PSTN/DATA/VOIP systems infrastructure integration issues.Provide tiered support to NMC and field operation groups.Effectively partner and cooperatively work with all organizations to develop and implement new products and services.Demonstrate effective customer interface skills.Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary. Qualifications:8 years experience in switch translations and traffic engineering.Experience with VOIP network.Experience with LEC, Wireless Carrier, LD Carrier or facilities based CLEC translations.Expertise in data, local voice and long distance switching.Working knowledge of customer and network translations.Working knowledge of voice communications, including local and long distance traffic flows.Proficient in network switching and signalling fundamentals.Proficient in VOIP network fundamentals.Foster an environment of knowledge sharing and mentoring.In depth knowledge of PBX functionality and capabilities.Excellent organization skills.Excellent documentation skills.
