DTI is seeking Oracle Applications DBA s who possess experience working in an environment where new modules are implemented and customized, as well as in environments where existing modules and customizations are modified to meet changing business needs. We seek experienced Oracle DBA s who have been a key player on major Oracle implementations and customization initiatives. Oracle DBA s should possess at least seven (7) years of experience with Oracle, and at least five (5) additional years performing database administration for major Oracle environments. Specific Oracle DBA Skills Expertise developed in a database management role for Oracle PeopleSoft Human Resource Applications. Experience with 10g or greater. Significant experience with Oracle databases in general. Experience with a variety of Oracle database management tools, including Oracle Enterprise Manager Experience with the creation, backup, and restoration of Oracle application instances. Experience in working through Oracle's TAR escalation process, applying patch fixes and upgrading the Oracle Applications environment Experience monitoring and maintaining multiple database instances Practical experience in designing and tuning efficient data models to be implemented in an Oracle 9i and 10g environments Ability to work with the development team to support changes or additions to a data model Experience with data conversion & migration in Oracle 9i and 10g environments. Monitoring, analysis, and reporting of system performance, availability, and capacity metrics. Resolution of failures and performance issues. Execution and verification of database, and application. Identification and creation of scripted solutions to improve productivity and/or monitoring. Advanced Shell (Posix, Korn) and PERL Scripting skills. Experience with enterprise backup and recovery software such as Veritas NetBackup. Experience performing UNIX administration (significant experience with HP system administration is a plus). Proven management experience within an Oracle DBA role. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to multi-task learns quickly, communicate effectively, and self-motivate. Specific Oracle DBA Roles and Activities Coordinate and manage tasks and work with Oracle PeopleSoft Application DBA s and developers to identify database requirements, needed to build instances, interfaces or customized code. Work with and oversee, Oracle PeopleSoft Application DBA s in the planning, installation and implementation of Oracle application databases, migrations, patches, development of new instances. Work closely with DBA Technical Architect to ensure that database projects fall within the standards and guidelines of the overall infrastructure. Gather input from Oracle PeopleSoft Application DBA s to plan accordingly for capacity and space management concerns. Establish and conduct regularly scheduled performance tuning, monitoring and housekeeping procedures. Responsible for 24x7 support of Oracle PeopleSoft application databases; this includes timely analysis, troubleshooting and resolution. Maintain, automate and enhance nightly batch processing procedures. Fine tune concurrent manager processes & developer SQL for optimal system performance. Perform database design, rebuilds, timely troubleshooting and resolution. Responds to key performance indicators and establishes new ones as needed.
