Job Title: Specialist, Learning & Development Job Summary: The L&D Regional Lead serves as the regional point of contact for L&D to Sapient (e.g. Southeast Region in the US). This consulting role is responsible for working with the manager community and HR professionals to identify and understand regional learning and development needs and delivering programs to meet those needs (through vendors or internal design). The consultant will execute against an annual Regional Development Plan and is expected to work with the manager community (i.e., Manager through VP) to integrate them into the learning process. Responsibilities: 1. Identify capability gaps and develop plan to close gaps for the designated region ? Consult with manager community to determine short and long-term needs with respect to talent and capabilities ? Help delivery teams take full advantage of L&D to improve their performance ? Work closely with local People Strategists and Staffing team members to determine development needs. ? Produce an annual regional Development Plan ? Translate the capability needs into learning solutions (with either the L&D Design Team in India or local vendors) ? Work with the L&D Design Team in India to translate the capability needs into learning solutions 2. Help Managers assess capabilities ? Work closely with Managers of all levels to help them assess skills and knowledge of their team members, before and after training 3. Drive adoption of training solutions within the region. ? Develop a communication plan for local training to raise awareness about training programs offered, benefits of attending, target audience. 4. Create and deploy tools to increase application of acquired skills 5. Coach managers using Sapient’s coaching methods 6. Collaborate with the New Hire Integration team to create an effective on boarding experience in the region 7. Otherwise execute against the local L&D requirements as defined by the annual Development Plan ? (India, Europe or North America) vendor management and selection ? Learning interventions Capabilities Required ? Consulting and Business Skills: Experience in consulting and interacting with VP-level business leaders about the direction of their book of business and resulting short and long-term talent needs. ? Consulting skills: Ability to develop a trusted-advisor relationship with managers of all levels. Examples of consulting skills are: clarifying objectives, asking probing questions, suggesting alternative solutions, driving decisions. ? Influence Skills: Ability to engage and persuade managers of all levels to actively support and drive the development of their staff. ? Planning skills: Creation of an annual Development Plan for the designated region. ? Collaboration skills: Ability to define common interests, manage conflict and problem solve effectively with a broad set of stakeholders. The Regional Lead will report to the Geography Lead, Learning & Development. In performing the essential functions of this role, the work environment is fast-paced, moderately noisy and team-based. Additionally, overnight travel may be required. Job Requirements Education: ? Bachelor’s degree in arts/humanities, business, organizational development or related field is required. Master’s degree preferred. Experience Guidelines: ? 5 years training or organizational development experience successfully managing the development and implementation of learning solutions ? Accountability for, or oversight of, an organization-wide learning program ?
