Our Chicago based client seeks and experienced SAP FI/CO Functional analyst for a key position on their SAP Team.Primary Responsibilities: Documents as-is business processes via flow charts and similar tools. Assesses business needs and how better business processes, support systems, and technology can improve efficiency and competitive advantage. Manipulates complex systems, such as SAP, through configuration tools to support new user needs. Constantly works with business users and management to continuously improve or reengineer business processes for competitive advantage. Develops a business case for change. Defines the needs, costs, return-on-investment, and measurements for business and technology change. Typically manages systems support activities in one of the assigned areas noted below:- Sales, marketing, and service (CRM)- Manufacturing, materials, receiving/shipping, distribution, traffic, sourcing, logistics (SCM)- Product development, manufacturing engineering, and quality (PLM)- Finance, strategic planning, decision support (FI/CO/SEM)- Human Resources, Payroll (HCM) Carries out system configuration changes and coordinates all module and system integration testing in conjunction with power users and users. May supervise consultants and contract analysts. May supervise subordinate configurators and/or business systems analysts when available. Educates and trains users on why processes and transactions are conducted as well as how they are conducted. Develops security profiles and authorizations. Ensure that what is authorized by one manager does not compromise security for others. Essentially, provides a process view of the system and security. Works with Power Users to ensure security developed and deployed meets user needs. Reviews all new report needs to ensure existing reports do not already provide the needed information. Helps users with reports and may construct reports within SAP or in data warehousing and BI models. Expert on all systems for the area assigned. Experience: The successful candidate should have approximately five years hands-on ERP experience, ERP go-live implementation experience, and at least one cycle doing an ERP upgrade. Experience with SAP is required. The position normally requires a B.S. degree in computer science or a degree in Business Administration. Industry certifications from SAP or related business areas are highly desirable. The incumbent should be well versed in the typical functional areas of a manufacturing company with special emphasis in sales and marketing, product development, finance, human resources, and manufacturing and materials. Ideally, the incumbent will have both business and technical skills and experience. The incumbent must possess very strong analytical and organizational abilities, written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work with and lead others in a Matrix management environment. The incumbent requires a high level of skill with SAP configuration within their primary area of support (eg, finance). The position requires the ability to use tools to design business processes (eg, flowcharting tools). The incumbent requires knowledge and skills regarding effective communication and an understanding of change enablement. The incumbent must have a knowledge of business case development including the development of return on investment scenarios and basic ROI analysis.
