This individual will administer and maintain configuration of software and hardware environments, including, but not limited to, network switches, system hardware, system virtual environment, backups, server operating systems and applications. The Systems Administrator will also perform operating system software patches and upgrades and will analyze, troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software and networking issues. This individual will also provide level two help desk and system administration and technical support for Windows, Microsoft Office and other applications installed on company network.

Position Responsibilities:

Network and Hardware Administration Installs operating system software, patches and upgrades.
Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software and networking issues.
Configures, optimizes and monitors operating systems and hardware.
Conducts server builds.
Creates automated scripts and procedures for routine processes and operations.
Assists in various infrastructure related projects.
Administers virtualized testing environment, creates test systems and plans.
Administers network backups and offsite storage.
Develops detailed project plans for infrastructure upgrades and changes, and documents configuration and software/hardware inventory.
Creates policies and procedures for hardware, software and desktop upgrades, testing, patching, and replacements.
Tests and installs new technologies.
Administers and maintain Exchange e-mail system.
Performs regular security vulnerability testing on network.
Manages the configuration, deployment and ongoing maintenance of company workstation computer configurations.
Upgrades and repairs desktop computers, servers and printers.
Administers user accounts, profiles, scripts, Group Policies, security and business continuity policies and procedures to protect data processing documents, information and equipment.
Sets up, manages and maintain systems at off-site events.
Configures and manages laptop inventory, including shared laptops and printers

Provides advanced assistance to resolve technical problems with Microsoft Office, 3rd party vendors, our developed applications, and Windows operating systems.
Provides coaching and training to enable users to be more productive in the use of automated tools.
Provides technical support for workstations. Identifies and resolves the causes of hardware, operating system, desktop applications, printer or other system malfunctions.
Evaluates and implements automated tools for the standardization of installed software.
Manages and maintains an inventory of installed software, software licensing, hardware and related equipment.



Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related field required.
3 years of experience in computer technology required.
Industry standard certificates preferred (examples: Microsoft and CCNA).
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills; strong commitment to customer service; highly self-directed.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at a single time.
Proven ability to work independently.
Experience with Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, Exchange Server 2003, Exchange Server 2007, scripting, virtualization technologies, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Office Applications required.
Experience with SAN, NAS, Firewalls, switches, VOIP preferred
