Business Program Manager in Chicago, IL
Our Chicago-Loop based Financial Services client, currently seeks a Business Program Manager for a 9-12 month project engagement.
This position requires collaboration within the Global Asset Management Investment's Business Unit for various locations both internally within business groups (Equity Trading, IT, and Logistics) as well as overall Global Asset Management, ITI (Infrastructure Technology) and at times externally (with third party vendors and brokers) to facilitate activities.
The role involves the following:
· Capacity to quickly develop an in depth understanding of business unit functions / trading concepts, and the systems that support each of the business areas with focus on the straight through processing trade systems as well as back office support systems.
· Good understanding of the infrastructure, architecture, and inter dependencies across the set of applications that make up trade execution and (STP) Straight-Through-Processing.
· Sound judgment, clear thought processes, effective communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously, in a team setting.
Responsibilities
· Ability to assist business in resolving business issues related to work area recovery planning, recovery plan development/enhancements.
· Work with IT Management and Staff on recommending business continuity strategies and options. Ability to work with IT and Business on implementing selected strategies.
· Coordinate business continuity planning and testing for multiple locations
· Coordinate with IT and Business Teams to ensure that preparedness is maintained
· Conduct Business Impact Interviews (BIA) to identify Critical applications and recovery timeframes
· Project Plan Development, Distribution and Maintenance
· Preparation of Test Scope and Test Results documents
· Uploading of Project Documents to Corporate Intranet
· Follow up on testing issues and actions
· Ensure that Sarbanes Oxley control questions are adequately answered and that appropriate evidence procedures are used.
· Respond to audit requests on Business planning issues, events and reporting.
· Participate in Global Committees and represent Business Unit interests in those areas.
· Handle other Audit issues as needed.
Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Reporting
· Manage SOX reporting compliance for reporting on compliance activities during certification periods.
· Assist Certifiers and First Signatories as needed with SOX Compliance applications issues, control question responses, evidence retention and other issues as they occur in a timely manner.
· Work with GLAM SOX Committee representatives on control standards, evidence gathering and storing, action plans, control question remapping and other items as needed.
· Work on consolidating or reducing unnecessary control questions where applicable
· Understand access control procedures and interact with IT Risk group of audit and control issues.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· BS Degree mandatory
· 3 or more years experience with business continuity planning in a brokerage or banking environment.
· Understanding of technology platforms, networking, fail over strategies, trading technology and processes.
· Good communication skills.
· Understanding of the business continuity planning lifecycle.
· The role requires an individual who is self motivated, flexible and dedicated. The individual must be able to multi task at once while not sacrificing quality of work. Excellent problem solving skills are essential along with experience in working in a dynamic team atmosphere.
