This is a career opportunity with an SD3 client located in Chicago. The Senior BI/Reporting Architect will participate in full life cycle development of a variety of Business Intelligence and reporting applications, including requirements gathering and analysis, design, and development activities. You will help clients drive more information from disparate data sources to help them maintain a competitive edge, and will help develop and maintain an internal best practices and development artifacts.Key Responsibilities Participate in requirements gathering and definition, planning, design and execution of BI projects at client engagementsProvide technical leadership to help influence the short and long term Business Intelligence roadmaps and the direction of application projects from data capture through application design & implementationDefine and implement best practices and procedures for all BI tools and architecturesDevelop complex reports, ETL scripts and dashboardsContribute to collective team knowledge by researching new technologies and products pertinent to financial services as well as keeping up to date with professional publications and maintaining person and professional networksContribute to and maintain the firm's knowledge capital including methodologies, development standards, design artifacts, and best practices applicable to reporting and Business Intelligence projectsContribute to various sales activitiesEnhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Key Requirements - most but not all requiredGraduate (BS, BA, MS or PhD) with a strong academic record preferably with a computer science, engineering or science degreeDeep understanding of business reporting challenges and best practices, and able to discuss them with clientsProven expertise in gathering and documenting business requirements for BI/reporting systems, then designing a solution to meet those requirementsAble to analyze multiple source data stores and determine how related information can be transformed and consolidated for reporting purposesSkilled at documenting technical requirements, creating technical designs and developing logical/physical data modelsRecent hands-on experience in developing reports, ETL scripts or dashboardsStrong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skillsAbility and desire to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environmentAnalytical and problem solving skills8+ years experience, with 3+ as lead BI Architect on data warehousing, data architecture or business analytics development projects.Prior experience in client services and/or consulting environmentPrior experience within financial servicesKnowledge of futures, equities and options marketsAbout SD3SD3 is an Information Technology consulting firm dedicated to providing superior service, quality, and satisfaction to our clients.
