POSITION SUMMARY



The Information Technology ( IT ) Support Center Senior Analyst supports the business practices of the firm by delivering reliable, high quality firm-wide application and technology support. This support includes resolution to both technical and functional issues and applies a broad working knowledge of IT products and services to assignments that are more complex and supports the Videoconference Coordinator and local IT professionals by providing backup or assistance. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Provide prompt and professional IT support services to remote customers by troubleshooting, analyzing, and diagnosing enterprise application functional and technical incidents and engaging appropriate technical resources to resolve them.

-Manage incoming calls or requests from users via phone, email, voicemail, and web interface and prioritize incidents following established incident management policies and procedures.

-Manage and maintain personal queue using the On-line Tracking Information System ( OTIS ). Diagnose and escalate ( only when all department resources are exhausted ) customer incidents and manage incident through entire Incident Lifecycle.

-Assist and backup the Video Conference Coordinator with the execution of all aspects of an event schedule and adhere to established videoconference polices and procedures.

-Monitor videoconference event to address change requests in a timely and professional manner and provide hands-on assistance to customers for the duration of the event.

-Provide technical support on the videoconference meeting systems and coordinate support needs with other divisions within the U.S. IT department.

-Assist and backup local IT professionals on managing their queues or on complex problems and take corrective action. May request guidance from Level II Support ( i.e., Engineering, Enterprise Messaging, DBAs, Developers, etc. ) to restore services and / or resolve incidents.

-Act as liaison between local IT professionals and Level II Support ( i.e., Engineering, Enterprise Messaging, DBAs, Developers, etc. ) on problem management.

-Seek development opportunities to grow and develop in position and career with Grant Thornton.

-Identify trends to proactively eliminate known errors by providing documentation to the known error database.

-Reviews all tickets to ensure: prioritization, classification and product details are appropriately categorized and documented.

-Analyze known errors and work with the appropriate departments to determine the root cause.

-Develop known error objects and submit for publishing to the Knowledge Management Review Team.

-Mentor the IT Support Center Analysts.

-Additional duties may include developing technical documentation and writing FAQs.

-Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.

-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis to grow and develop in position and career.

-Participate in special projects as assigned by IT management and perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related; equivalent work experience will be considered.

-Excellent written and oral communications skills.

-Ability to work with minimal supervision.

-Ability to integrate procedural steps and processes with technical requirements and system functions to assure successful delivery of work.

CDI is currently looking for a Contract Systems Management Specialist to join our team. Join CDI today.



Senior SAN administrator to support EMC Clarion and Brocade switches at a customers site in downtown Chicago.



The candidate will be the lead on the SAN/Storage who will be part of a team of 7 System Administrators and will be expected to perform server functions.



Responsibilities for the SAN/Storage will include however not limited to; daily checkouts, hardware monitoring, 24/7 on-call support (server team rotation), problem determination/resolution, and configuration changes.



Manage disks, arrays, luns, and perform software/hardware maintenance as appropriate, perform capacity planning, provide recommendations for present and future growth and functional testing for devices/servers.



Candidate must have good working knowledge of Windows 2003 and Solaris 9 & 10. Knowledge of DNS, AD & Netbackup would be nice to have.



Must be able to perform the following:

Support Brocade Products, Maintain and support SUN-Storage, Apply Knowledge of EMC HW Knowledge of McData & Brocade, Support EMC Storage Subsystems; including Power Path, Support Brocade, McData, CNT, Cisco Switches, Advise Technically on Storage(2), Manage System Change, Manage Performance/Capacity, Use Systems Monitor Tools.



Location: On-site downtown Chicago



Duration: One year or more



Shift: 1st shift

Coverage: Weekend coverage is required.

On Call: Needs to be on-call

Experience: 4 years or more

Travel: Travel is not required

Our client is looking for candidates who answered yes to the above. Their customer centered team-based approach is the framework for designing technology applications, websites, internal systems and more for their clients. Contextual Design is their front-end, customer-centered design methodology used and taught world-wide.


Experience: Those who have a background in the social sciences, technical writing, human-computer interaction, information systems, user research or other related fields are ideal candidates for our Work Practice Designer. Or perhaps you are a product manager or software engineer who wants to work in a small company environment and focus on designing products that are driven by actually face-to face customer research.

This position is ideal for someone with a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant post-graduation experience - or recent grads with a Masters or PhD with 1-2 years of experience - and who are looking to expand their horizons by performing in a fast-paced, consulting environment.

We are looking for people with these characteristics:

· Training or experience in ethnographic research or related methods

· Eagerness to learn the Contextual Design process and follow it

· Excited to produce innovative and practical designs that impact the life and work of the end user/employees while meeting the business needs of our client

· Good communication skills, both written and stand-up presentations

· Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to get along easily with others working on small, collaborative teams over extended periods of time while maintaining a positive attitude

· Willingness to travel on a regular basis, occasionally on short notice

· Currently living in the greater Chicago area is a must.

· Special consideration will be given to candidates with any of the following: background in business process redesign or Six Sigma.

· Effective tracking of activities, well-organized, and talent to eventually lead projects is a plus

· Special consideration will be given to candidates with a second language (e.g., Japanese, Chinese, German, and others).
