JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Clinical Systems Manager, is responsible for supporting several large projects and maintaining several of the clinical systems across the Cook County Bureau of Health Services. Assists clinical system implementations according to project management methodology and system develop life cycle methodology. Tests software to detailed specification.Learns new clinical applications and over sees the completion of tasks related to clinical system functions. Coordinates the resolution of user calls and determines appropriate action by investigating and analyzing reported hardware and software problems.Evaluates and assists senior management in the implementation of system upgrades.Provides after-hours support of clinical applications per schedule. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or in a Health Care related field is required. · Two (2) years experience in Cerner Clinical applications is required with a focus in PowerChart or FirstNet. · Proficiency in the use of personal computer hardware and software packages to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Windows XP is required. · Two (2) years experience managing large projects and/or implementationsandworking with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of patient care/clinical delivery systems preferably those used by the Cook County Bureau of Health Services. Ability to work/troubleshoot with numerous software/hardware applications and their vendors. Knowledge of relational databases, database design, and software tools to support data analysis and reporting. Ability and follow through to work with outside departments to improve quality and accountability and patient safety. Ability to support/train less experience personnel in the uses of systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Project management skills and the ability to work with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced stressful environment. Skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and other software and hardware packages.
