Full Description: This staff member completes the following activities:



1) Performs senior level database administration for Oracle/MS-SQL Server databases. Performs day to day monitoring, optimizing, and developer support for creation of databases, tables, indexes, and other database objects. Builds backup and recovery jobs.



2) Works closely with senior developers and logical data modelers to perform physical database design for complex business applications/databases with large numbers of interfaces and users.



3) Troubleshoots and resolves complex database problems.



4) Recommends implementation technology to developers.



5) Conducts performance analysis of applications and database management systems.



6) Reviews application designs for compliance with Production acceptance requirements.



7) Thoroughly understands and complies with IT policies and procedures, especially those for quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established client service levels. Thoroughly understands and complies with Information Security policies and procedures. Verifies deliverables meet Information Security requirements.



8) Participates in special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.



1) Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience, with a computer science degree, preferred



2) Five years' DBA experience, including two years experience implementing Oracle database solutions, preferred



3) Strong written and oral communication skills



4) Strong analysis and problem solving skills



5) Advanced knowledge of the following DBA practices and concepts: - Database monitoring, optimizing, and maintenance - Database logs and bug lists - Advanced knowledge of one or more IT platforms: - Microsoft Windows NT - UNIX (Solaris) 6) Advanced knowledge of current versions of the following: - Microsoft Office Suite - Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g


Experience: call for details, Additional Rqmts: 80% Oracle and 20% MS SQL Server, versions 2000 or 2005, 2007 is not a requirement
