Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, Transportation Function: Engineering/Technology Location: Chicago, IL Job #: 824785 Posted: May 29, 2008 Responsibilities * The Product Solutions Engineer (PSE) will work directly with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, and Customers (esp. CN and CP) to assist in the adoption of new products and technologies on the railroad.* In support of implementing new products and technologies, the PSE will manage test sites, analyze test data, communicate results and progress, provide technical documentation, develop applications, and conduct training as necessary.* In addition, the PSE will work directly with the customer's engineering and design teams to apply our products and solutions to their problems and issues, including the integration or linking of our products into existing overall customer systems.* PSEs will be expected to gather requirements from the customer on many fronts and feed those requirements back into our product development plans. Qualifications * Bachelors in engineering and 4 years of signal experience (or High School diploma/GED and 10 years of signal experience to include experience working directly with the customers to solve product related field issues.)Desired * Demonstrated creativity and technical problem solving.* Self starter.* Motivated and energetic.* Change agent with strong credibility and ability to influence others in a matrix environment.* Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.* Strong customer presence.* Ability to effectively work in a multi-site, team environment.
