Pixel is a boutique interactive agency nested inside the world's largest media company – Starcom MediaVest Group, a Publicis Groupe company. Responsibilities: DO WHAT YOU LOVE
Purpose: To do great work. Develop multiple art directions against a single assignment until you and our team know it's the one. As an up and coming Art Director you will have a key role on projects and within the creative team to bring energy, ideas, distractions and focus to the group and your work by way of:
Designing every day as though it was your favorite holiday – honing your eye, staying up on trends, knowing what's right vs. what just seemed like a good idea, managing yourself and other designers.
Owning and stewarding the client's brand, equities and values – be the go-to designer for our clients
Partnering with other designers, copywriters, UX and technology designers to solve communication and experience problems (websites, microsites, digital advertising, mobile, apps)
Always stay medieval (intensely focused) on business goals and objectives so we will always be able to find our way to doing the kind of work we love
Be agnostic across digital channels and technologies and about how can and could weave together
Support teams in major presentations, business development and in the day to day when things get tight – we are small, we all chip in.
Constantly demand to be inspired and in turn, inspire right back.
Contribute to elevating the work across the board by providing input, ideas and thoughtful commentary on fellow team member's work – we are an open collaborative group.
You are uniquely qualified because:
You have a strong and developing thirst for creating things digital and are able to say "Ok, I hear you" from any point of feedback and then come back with something that surprises even you. You know instinctively when something is on brand, interaction is how you think. Appropriate organizational skills, flexible, dedicated approach to team participation and strong character are key. Exposure to integrating research, content strategy, copywriting, design, interactive development are cost of entry. Besides a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design you have ...
3+ years of experience (preferably agency)
Promising conceptual muscles – visual and experiential (Flash, application design)
Have things to say and the ability to listen to others — strong communication skills
Always researching, reading, aggressively learning new things in the space
Know what it means to be responsible for your own timelines and ownership with your deliverables
Ability to collaborate with the Creative Director, other Art Directors and Associate Creative Directors in the name of elevating the work and the team overall
A good solid list of software, tools and inspirational sources specific to digital/interactive
The ability to laugh at yourself, the stress and the industry – we make things that make people happy and we never forget that it's really just about 1's and 0's.
