Candidate will support Managed Security Services -Network Based initiatives as part of Project Gemini.

Candidate will configure, test, and support scalable virtualized network-based Internet security services integrated into core AT&T residential and business DSL service. Candidate must have practical hands on expertise in implementing and validating highly scalable services within Tier 1 carrier DSL environments. In particular, candidate should have in depth understanding and expert working knowledge of carrier DSL architectures equipment, and candidate must have prior experience configuring the Juniper ERX platforms and/or the Redback SmartEdge platforms for use in carrier DSL environments. Further, candidate should have strong knowledge and hands on experience of the common L2/L3 protocols used in the carrier DSL such as ATM, PPPoE, L2TP, and RADIUS.

Besides possessing a strong general networking and TCP/IP background, candidate should also have strong working knowledge of Internet security, and familiarity with threats and mitigation strategies. Candidate should have hands on experience configuring and validating network security applications and appliances such as firewalls, packet filters, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Knowledge and experience with testing equipment and applications such as the Spirent AX4000 and/or Ixia IxLoad/IxNetwork are required. Ability to author code and automation scripts and knowledge of UNIX are also desired.
