Applications Coordinator


Under the general direction of the Associate Director for Student Systems, this position will provide systems-level application support for Universitys set of core student related applications, based primarily on packaged software products from multiple vendors but in addition to substantial locally-developed code.

This role includes duties such as loading and configuring application software; applying new releases, patches and upgrades; coordinating intra- and inter-system interfaces and associated software; and maintaining and troubleshooting applications infrastructure and architecture associated with the daily administration of key applications. Responsibilities include collaboration with business and systems analysts, software developers, and vendors technical support staff with enhancing, customizing, maintaining, testing and implementing system modifications. This role assists with the coordination of work (e.g. very specifically and technically tells these teams what to do on behalf of the application) with a broad data center support team including systems, server, network, database, Web, desktop support, help desk, security, and firewall administrators to meet the systems support needs, project demands, timelines, and changes.

A minimum of two years of experience providing applications support in a large-scale environment (for large ERP systems like PeopleSoft, etc.) required; experience managing application systems written for a Microsoft/Windows environment (SQL databases, MS SQL server, and XP OS) required; experience with large application software package code releases required; familiarity with implementing a Crystal Reports/Business Objects reporting infrastructure required; ability to coordinate the activities of a diverse set of IT resources in a matrix environment required.
