CNA Insurance is currently recruiting for a business analyst specialist towork with business leaders to create management reports related to claimquality. This individual will build databases in Microsoft Access to gather and analyzeauditdata. Excellent Access database skills are required. This individual will also needintermediate Excel skills.
This department is responsible for the quality audits for standard and specialty lines claims, SOX audits, third party administrator audits, litigation management audits, etc.
Excellent software skills in addition to good communications skills are a must.

Job Summary
Under technical direction, works with business area and technology representatives to formulate and define systems scope and objectives. Manages business requirements in support of an IT program or project for functional area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Liaises with stakeholders and plans and conducts working sessions to elicit and review business requirements.
2. Prepares charter, requirements, and solutions documents and supporting documentation (e.g., use cases, process flows, business rules, user interface mock-ups, etc) for the concept and definition phases of the project.
3. Recommends most viable technology solutions to management for approval.
4. Supports system test planning to ensure that test conditions, scripts, validation criteria, and expected results will successfully test the business and non-functional requirements.
5. Participates in design reviews to ensure that detailed designs meet the needs of business and non-functional requirements.
6. Manages requirements process using the appropriate requirement management tools (e.g. Caliber RM).
7. Assures that necessary research is performed in order to fully understand the business issues, develop possible solutions and to support development of innovative, cost effective solutions.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

1. Broad understanding of the insurance industry, its products, practices and operations.
2. Broad knowledge of the system development life cycle, and technology alternatives; understanding of interface design and user centered work methods.

5. Solid oral and written communication skills and ability to convey business requirements and technical needs in clear, concise, and effective manner.

Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
