A South Side Chicago client is looking for a IT Director to come in and provide efficient, reliable, and modern information technology systems, telephone systems, and equipment that support internal operations, improve service levels to agencies, and provide better connectivity with outside organizations and individuals. Experience: Direct and supervise the IT department, ensuring adherence to GCFD personnel policies and procedures. Provide training and development, appraisal, an recognition. Maintain computer hardware (servers, desktops and workstations), applications, and databases with minimal down time, in keeping with annual budget development and year around maintenance of assigned dollars. Support and manages the electronic side of the phone system, including the connectivity and basic system changes. Work effectively with the telephone company personnel and the internal phone system personnel, as necessary. Design defenses to reduce the likelihood of the computer systems being damaged by viruses and takes corrective action when viruses hit. Design and administer the monitoring and reporting of computer use with the objective of providing information to managers to minimize inappropriate use of the computer systems. Provide oversight of the IT Team and their follow through in supporting all system users. Work with technical vendors for system updates, support and service, as necessary. Plan, design and implement the steady stream of new projects as they arise (e.g. Convio, Navision and RE), including GCFD Basic Training/Orientation for Employees. Ensure IT Disaster/Recovery Backup plan is maintained and updated.
